Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
The Janshatabdi Express has been given a stop at Partur and Selu railway stations on an experimental basis. However, passengers are raising concerns that there is no attention being given to the demand for the train to halt at Mukundwadi, Lasur, and Rotegaon stations.
There has been a longstanding demand for the Janshatabdi Express to stop at Mukundwadi station, but the railway administration has repeatedly stated that providing a halt at this station is not commercially viable. Previously, the Janshatabdi Express running from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to Mumbai has now been rerouted to run from Hingoli, providing better connectivity for passengers between Hingoli and Jalna. However, the demand for halts at Mukundwadi, Lasur, and Rotegaon stations is being ignored, while the train has been given a stop at Partur and Selu on an experimental basis.
10 km Detour
Mukundwadi station is approximately 10 km away from the main station. To catch the Janshatabdi Express, residents from areas like Cidco, Hudco, and Mukundwadi have to travel to the main station.
Stop Should Be Given
The President of the Marathwada Railway Action Committee Anant Borkar said, “ The Janshatabdi Express should be given halts at Mukundwadi, Lasur, and Rotegaon stations, which would provide convenience to the passengers from these areas.”
Discriminatory treatment
While the train halts at Partur and Selu, despite repeated demands, it does not stop at Lasur and Rotegaon. This is discriminatory treatment, claimed Railway Pravasi Sena’s Rajkumar Somani.
