Aurangabad, Oct 23:

Temples are still closed and all religious functions are restricted due to Covid-19. This has taken a heavy toll on the Purohits and the financial condition of most of the people in the community has deteriorated. Therefore, like the state of West Bengal, the Maharashtra government should provide monthly stipend to the purohits for the period from March to October. A statement of demands to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray was recently handed over to the district collector by the Akhil Bharatiya Brahman Mahasangh. District president Sudhir Naik, vice president Milind Pimple, Prakash Mahajan and Kunal Vaidya were present on the occasion.
