Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Due to frequent traffic congestion at the busy junctions of Deolai and Shivajinagar, BJP Yuva Morcha city district vice-president Dadasaheb Dakle Patil has demanded the installation of modern traffic signals at these locations.

A memorandum regarding this was submitted to the municipal commissioner and police inspector on March 10. In the memorandum, it was stated that the Deolai and Shivajinagar junctions are among the busiest and most sensitive intersections in the city. School students, senior citizens, fire brigade vehicles and public transport frequently pass through these areas, leading to severe traffic jams on a daily basis. As a result, emergency vehicles such as ambulances often get stuck in traffic, putting patients’ lives at risk. It was also pointed out that the absence of traffic signals has increased the chances of accidents. The memorandum urged the administration to immediately install modern traffic signals at these junctions. Until then, permanent deployment of traffic police personnel has also been demanded to manage the situation.
