Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A case has been registered at MIDC Waluj police station on Monday against seven members of the husband’s family, including the husband, for allegedly subjecting a married woman to physical and mental harassment over a demand of Rs 50,000 from her parental home.

According to the complaint filed by Jayashree Pravin Jadhav, her husband Pravin Anil Jadhav, mother-in-law Sonu Anil Jadhav, father-in-law Anil Petras Jadhav, brother-in-law Sachin Anil Jadhav, co-sister Pooja Sachin Jadhav, and husband’s sister Shubhangi Sachin Kolge (all residents of Rahuri Gavthan, Rahuri, district Ahilyanagar), along with another woman, repeatedly demanded Rs 50,000 from her parental home for medical expenses. When the demand was not fulfilled, the complainant was allegedly abused, physically assaulted and threatened with death.

Distressed by the continuous harassment, the complainant approached the police and lodged a complaint. A case has been registered against the seven accused and further investigation is underway.
