Aurangabad, April 24:

The erratic water supply has become an issue of grave concern for the residents of the Cidco-Hudco areas. An air of disappointment prevails amongst the residents, who claim, of celebrating the festivals without water many a time.

They underlined receiving drinking water for 55 days in a year (out of 365 days), although they pay tax for the whole year. There is an official gap of six days. Some areas in the Cidco-Hudco are receiving water on the gap of nine days. Earlier, despite serving reminders and agitations the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) officers made no improvement in the water supply schedule.

The residents grieved that the collection of water tax is satisfactory from Cidco-Hudco areas. Despite this, the AMC had not prepared a proper water distribution plan for the Cidco-Hudco areas. The AMC's water supply section failed to control the leakages in the water supply, water thefts in the city, while many valves needed to be repaired immediately. The civic officials should focus on taking concrete measures including filing offenses for any sort of irregularity relating to the water supply.

Earlier, the Shiv Sena delegation had met the civic chief and narrated their grievances. Now, the Cidco-Hudco residents are waiting for what action the municipal commissioner A K Pandey takes to streamline their water supply and fulfill other demands.
