Aurangabad, Feb 28:

Members of the RTE Parents Association demonstrated at Rajnagar and Garkheda areas on Saturday, demanding to stop corruption in admissions under Right to Education (RTE) seats.

It may be noted that 25 per cent of seats are reserved in private self-financed English schools under RTE.

In a memorandum sent to the chief minister, the association's office-bearers stated that even after selecting candidates through a draw, English schools are demanding Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000.

“Fake rent agreement is used for the admissions in prominent schools. Aided Marathi schools too seek Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 from parents for admissions. Also, Rs 3,000 are collected forcefully every year. The students' name is registered twice in the admission process. The Government should break the chain of corruption,” the parents union said.

The agitators demanded action should be taken against those who are found guilty in the probe.

The memorandum was signed by Prashant Sathe, Jagannath Warade, Sunil Magre, Sachin Popatghar, Gajanan Patil.
