Aurangabad, May 16:

Teachers union demanded that teaches who are doing the survey were not given COVID vaccines nor their family members.

In a memorandum to the chief executive officer of Zilla Parishad and Education Officer, the Shikshak Samiti stated that teachers are doing the duty of preventive measures implementation by risking their lives. Yet, they were not given the first dose of the vaccine.

“Teachers and their family members should be given vaccines. They should be considered as frontline workers. Some teachers? have lost their lives because of officers in the administration passing bucks on each other. The insurance company is giving insurance cover to those who come in contact with COVID patients. Why not this for teachers? the office-bearers questioned.

The memorandum was signed by its district president Vijay Salkar, general secretary Ranjit Rathod, Nitin Navle, Shyam Rajput, Shalikaram Khriste, Gulab Chavan and others.
