Chhatrapati SambhajinagarYuva Sena’s Marathwada college wing office-bearer Nikhil kakde has demanded the immediate restoration of the Maratha Empire map in the Class 8 NCERT history textbook, alleging its removal from the revised edition. Kakde submitted a memorandum to MP Shrikant Shinde during his city visit on Sunday. The memorandum stated that the Maratha Empire played a significant role in shaping India’s political and cultural history, and its omission could leave students with an incomplete understanding. Historical references, including Peshwa Daftar records and British-era maps, were cited to support the demand.
