Aurangabad, June 11:

In order to ensure smooth power supply in the growing urban areas of Waluj industrial area, a new independent substation should be set up, local public representatives in the area urged energy minister Nitin Raut. The minister assured the delegation that a decision on setting up a new substation would be taken soon.

A new substation in K-sector of Waluj set up by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) was inaugurated by Raut on Friday. A delegation of Panchayat Samiti members Deepak Bade, Ratan Battise, Sitaram Todkar, Somnath Nemane and others asked energy minister Raut to set up a new substation in the village. The statement said that Ranjangaon Shenpunji has about 22,000 customers and power is supplied through Waluj substation. The Gram Panchayat and Panchayat Samiti have written to MSEDCL to set up a separate sub station in the village, but the demand has fallen on deaf ears. Population of Tisgaon, Sajapur and other places has also increased significantly and the use of electricity has also increased. As the load increases, the citizens have to face permanent power issues. With the construction of new substations, the load on substations in Daulatabad and Cidco will reduce.
