Demand to stall floating solar project in Nathsagar

The tehsil administration has received an objection demanding a stay on the proposed floating solar power project in Nathsagar (Jayakwadi Dam) at Paithan on Monday.

In a memorandum submitted to the additional tehsildar Akash Dahadade, the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi delegation claimed that the floating solar project would seal the growth of biodiversity. It would also affect the aquatic life in the water, and push the fishermen to face starvation. As a result, the project should be stalled immediately. The delegation threatened to launch an agitation if the appropriate steps are not taken by the respective administration.

The project chief (Marathwada) Jitendra Shirsaath, district vice president Roopchand Gadekar, tehsil president Shaikh Yunus Razaak Patel and others were present on the occasion.
