The Deogiri Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), has been recognised as the best ITI in Maharashtra for its performance in skill training, industry linkage and student placement. The recognition was announced at the state-level “Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skill University Convocation Ceremony and Best ITI Awards” held in Mumbai on March 21, 2026.

The institute secured top marks across evaluation parameters, including training quality, use of modern machinery, on-the-job training (OJT) and industry collaboration. Officials stated that strong industry tie-ups and practical training modules have contributed to improved employability of students. Established in 1959, the institute currently offers 28 trades and trains over 1,800 students. Through initiatives such as the Dual System of Training (DST) and CSR-backed advanced laboratories, students are gaining exposure to industry-relevant skills. Over 1,400 students have completed OJT, while 480 students have been trained under the STEP initiative. The institute has also implemented specialised training programmes, including rehabilitation training for prison inmates, as part of its broader skill development efforts. The award is being seen as a significant achievement for the Marathwada region.
