Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Newly elected deputy mayor Rajendra Janjal underlined that with the Mahayuti alliance in power from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to Delhi, the city is set to witness all-round development and it would no longer lag behind in any sector.

Addressing concerns over basic civic amenities, Janjal said issues related to roads, water supply and drainage are nearing resolution. He claimed that the city will not face any water scarcity until 2050, and although residents may experience temporary inconvenience, they will eventually receive adequate daily water supply.

Within a year, the city would become clean and visually appealing, with the goal of placing the city among the top ten cities in the country. Efforts would also be made to strengthen public transport.

He said tackling corruption would be a key priority, with civic services such as birth and death certificates, building permissions, tax payments and water charges to be made fully online, reducing citizens’ dependence on zone offices.

On urban challenges, Janjal said parking facilities would be developed as per the new Development Plan, while designated spaces would be allotted to street vendors through policy decisions of the municipal corporation. He added that adequate funding for development works would be ensured due to the Mahayuti government at both the Centre and the State.
