Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The Aurangabad Bench of the Bombay High Court has directed the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Zilla Parishad to take a decision within 12 weeks regarding initiation of legal action based on the inquiry report into the alleged misappropriation of 15th Finance Commission funds in Dhurkheda Grampanchayat under Shahada Panchayat Samiti in Nandurbar district.

The petition was filed by Vishram Vasant Mavchi through Adv. Gajendra Devichand Jain (Bhansali). The allegations included misappropriation of funds without taking grampanchayat members into confidence and without carrying out development works.

Earlier, an extension officer had submitted an inquiry report, but no concrete action had been taken by the administration. Taking note of this, Justice Nitin B. Suryawanshi and Justice Vaishali Patil-Jadhav issued the above directions on April 29 2026.

With this order, it has now been made mandatory that action on complaints of corruption must be taken within a stipulated timeframe.
