Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A student of Class 11 was beaten and injured following a minor dispute that broke out during an examination at a college in Waluj on Saturday.

A case has been registered in the matter. The complainant, Avishkar Santosh Adsule (18, Bakwalnagar), had his 11th standard paper (Cooperative ) subject at 10 o'clock, on Saturday.

After the paper ended at 1 PM, when he placed his question paper down in the hall, it slid under the bench of the student sitting next to him, Sameer Patel. Using this as a reason, Sameer abused the complainant and hit him with his hand.

As Avishkar was heading home, Sameer Patel, Aman Shaikh and two other unidentified individuals stopped him. All four beat him over the issue of why he had thrown the question paper under the table. In the assault, he suffered serious injuries to both eyes.

Accused Aman Shaikh struck the complainant on the calf of his left leg with an iron rod, causing injury. The accused also allegedly threatened him with dire consequences, as stated in the complaint.

A case was registered against Sameer Patel, Aman Sheikh (both from Waluj) and two other accused persons.
