District sees drop in active patients, covid deaths

Aurangabad, July 7:

In the last 16 days in the district, the graph of corona has decreased in urban and rural areas. Two months ago, 900 new patients were being added daily, while 20 to 25 people were losing lives on a daily basis. But at present, the number of patients in the district is increasing by only 50 per day, while one to two deaths are being reported. The city has recorded zero deaths four times. If this situation continues, the third wave of coronavirus will be averted, experts say.

The second wave of coronavirus caused havoc in the city. However, now that the severeness of the disease has decreased, the number of patients has dropped dramatically. The daily number of patients in the city often see rise in single digit numbers. Concerns were being raised about the situation in rural areas. But corona havoc in rural areas has also abated.

City overcame death 4 times

Four months later, on June 25, not a single patient died in the city. For the second time in a week, no one died in the city on June 30. On July 5 and 6, the city also overcame corona death.

New Patients - 946

Total deaths - 25

Patients undergoing treatment - 9,314

Situation in the district on July 6:

New patients - 43

Total deaths - 1

Patients undergoing treatment - 466

District's recovery rate - 97.33 percent

District mortality rate - 2.3 percent

State mortality rate - 2.6 percent

Patients undergoing treatment – 0.38 percent

City's positivity rate - 10.55 percent
