District surpasses metro cities in positivity percentage, detection of Covid patients in state

Aurangabad, March 25:

Aurangabad has been listed as the first city in Maharashtra due to the rise in the positivity percentage of Covid-19 patients recorded during the last week, stated the report of the public health department. The city has surpassed Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur cities. The report also highlighted that the positivity per cent of the district is more than the average percentage of the state.

The district is also the sixth city in India and Maharashtra in terms of active Coronavirus infected patients. The strength of Covid-19 patients has crossed the figure of 72,000. According to health officials, the variant from Brazil has been detected in the state. Hence there is a dire need for the people of the district to remain alert and take all preventive measures for the safety from the infection.

The week's average percentage in the detection of patients include Aurangabad - 2.41 pc; Nagpur - 1.87 pc, Pune - 1.11 pc and Mumbai - 0.87 pc. Meanwhile, the average percentage of the state is 1.09 pc.

In the category of testing per million population, Aurangabad had conducted 1.26 lakh, while the state's average is 1.41 lakh.

The average positivity per cent of the week includes Aurangabad - 48.20 pc, Pune - 33.72 pc, Nagpur - 32.20 pc and Mumbai - 15.19 pc, while the state's average is 21.52 pc.

The percentage of active patients (under home isolation) in Aurangabad is 63.20 pc, and the state's average is 58.50 pc.
