Aurangabad, June 11:

Energy minister and Congress Party's Scheduled Caste (SC) Cell president Dr Nitin Raut convinced the Congress activists that they should not get disheartened as there is not a single MLA or MP in the distrist, but he is always with them, he said.

He addressing the Congress activists of the SC Cell at Gandhi Bhavan during a meeting on Friday afternoon. The activists were present in large numbers while they submitted he memorandums of demands to him.

Raut further said, the thought of Congress is of Constitution and of the Phule - Shahu - Ambedkar. The ideology is based on equality, freedom, fraternity and social justice. Congress expects upliftment of the downtrodden people. I am an ordinary activist who follow the path of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. He chose Aurangabad for the educational development and several persons from backward communities could gain education through it. Thus, I am more fond of Aurangabad city, Raut mentioned.

Initially, he garlanded the portraits of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. the city president of the SC Cell Dr Arun Shirsath made an introductory speech. Congress District president Dr Kalyan Kale and city president Hisham Osmani also made brief speeches. ZP president Meena Shelke, State SC Cell executive president Dr Jitendra Dehade, city women's wing president Seema Thorat, Namdeo Pawar, Ravindra Kale and others were present on the dais.
