“Get regular health checkups. Hemoglobin tests are available at very low rates. Even in rural areas, basic medical facilities are somewhat available. So do not ignore any health issues,” advised Dr. Kanan Yeolikar on the occasion of World Health Day dean of CSMSS Medical College and Hospital.
The second All India Medical Literature Conference and Free Mega Health Camp was held on Monday at the Vitthal-Rukmini Temple Hall in Pandharpur Waluj . The theme of this year’s Health Day focused on Mother and Child, highlighting concerns over low hemoglobin levels in pregnant women. Dr. Yeolikar said efforts are on to bring Maharashtra’s maternal mortality rate below 10%. The event was jointly organized by Shri Vitthal-Rukmini Mandir, Arogya Jagruti Associates, Jai Vishwakarma Sarvoday De-addiction Center, CSMSS Medical College, and Laghane Hospital. The conference was chaired by Dr. Sharadchandra Wankhede, Vice Chancellor of Amaltas University, Dewas. Several dignitaries including Dr. M.G. Kalwale, Dr. Sunder Kulkarni, Dr. Dange, H.B.P. Janardhan Maharaj Mete, Dr. Sunil Laghane, and others were present. A poetry symposium was also held. Health kirtankar Dr. M.D. Sankpal compered the program, and P.S. Gujar gave the vote of thanks. Lifetime achievement and health awards such as Jeevan Gaurav, Arogya Bhushan, and Arogya Ratna were presented. Writers, poets, and social leaders including Vilas Chandane, Vishnu Jadhav, Anil Jadhav, Pradeep Mali, and others attended the event.
