Dr Amrutkar gets 'Major Research Project

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Dr Prashant Amrutkar, the Registrar of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University and Head of the Department of Political Science, has received a 'Major Research Project' from Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). Under this project, research and a comprehensive study will be conducted regarding the benefits accrued to tribal women as beneficiaries of various education and health schemes.

The ICSSR invited proposals for Major and Minor Research Projects in December 2025. Dr Prashant Amrutkar submitted a proposal on behalf of the Department of Political Science. The list of approved projects was officially released by the ICSSR on March 15. The project titled "State Capacity, E-Governance, and Community Responsiveness in Public Health and Education Service Delivery: A Study of Tribal Women in Fifth Schedule Areas of India" (a Major Research Project) has been approved.

This project spans a duration of five years and is allocated a total funding of Rs 16 lakhs. In the first phase, an initial grant of Rs 8 lakhs will be released. Dr Amrutkar has previously completed four research projects over the last 15 years, including projects funded by the UGC, PM-USHA, and one university-funded project. Additionally, he currently serves as the Director of the Sant Gadgebaba Chair.
