Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Dr Pramod Yeole, the former Vice Chancellor of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, has been appointed as the VC of Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS), Jaipur.

The appointment was made by the Governor of Rajasthan and Chancellor of the universities Haribhau Bagde. He is the first pharmacist to be appointed as the VC of the health university that was established in 2005. Dr Pramod Yeole served as the VC of Bamu from July 16, 2019 to January 1, 2024. He will take over from his outgoing counterpart Dr Dhananjay Agarwal on March 5. His appointment will be until January 1, 2029.

Commenting on his appointment, Dr Pramod Yeole said that this is a proud moment for him as he became the first pharmacist to hold the position of VC of Government Health University. “Previously, I had the privilege of serving as the VC, and in charge VCs at five different universities in the State. I am grateful to have achieved this milestone with the support and well wishes of my students, friends, colleagues, teachers, and, most importantly, my family,” he added.
