291 candidates to receive permanent employment

During the establishment of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) , Aurangabad in 1956, Class IV posts were filled through direct recruitment. After nearly 69 years, a fresh recruitment process was conducted in 2025, in which 291 candidates were selected. Appointment letters will be distributed to these candidates at a ceremony scheduled on Saturday.

The event will be held at 11:30 am in the presence of guardian minister Sanjay Shirsat, minister for OBC Welfare Atul Save, visitor committee chairman Pradeep Jaiswal and district collector Deelip Swami.

The recruitment process was carried out under the guidance of dean Dr Shivaji Sukre, with the efforts of document verification committee chairman Dr M. S. Baig, nodal officer Dr Bharat Sonawane, Dr Smita Andurkar, Dr Vinod Mundada, Dr Tapan Jakkal, Dr Satish Bahekar, administrative officer Dilip Godhane and Shaikh Naim.

Boost to patient care

For the first time in the hospital’s history, such a large-scale permanent recruitment drive has been conducted in a transparent manner. The appointment of new employees is expected to significantly enhance patient care services and facilities in the hospital.

Inauguration of new facilities

Along with the distribution of appointment letters, a newly constructed hall for visitor board and college council meetings will be inaugurated. The renovated accident department under the department of medicine and a newly established air-conditioned X-ray room in ward number 11 will also be inaugurated.
