Aurangabad, May 17:
The City Chowk police arrested a drug peddler by laying a
trap at Chelipura area. The police have seized 96 tablets, cough syrup bottles
and mobile phone, all amounting Rs 13,000 from him.
The arrested has been identified as Atik Shaikh Abdullah
Shaikh (44, Chelipura). Police said, Atik is a criminal on police record. Last
year, he was arrested for selling the intoxicant tablets. He was found Corona
positive and around 17 policemen were infected due to him. He was released on
bail in this case but he started his activities again. Acting on a tip off,
City Chowk PI Sambhaji Pawar, PSI Kashinath Mahgule and others in civil dress
laid a trap and arrested Atik. They seized 12 stips of tablets from him. He was
produced before the court and was ordered to be kept in the police station
lockup.
