Eat your food like medicine not medicine as your food

Recently, I was working from home and just about to send a mail to my team. I coughed a few times. Ignoring it casually, I grabbed my sipper and drank some water. Within few hours, I had started feeling feverish and also developed cold. My body was paining. On an usual day, we ignore these symptoms or, quickly pop a Paracetamol. But the Pandemic was all over the world and so suddenly I started recalling as to where I had visited recently; was it the corner grocery store or was it the fruit vendor? I had also met a client at our office the day before. The symptoms were mild nevertheless they indicated me to get myself tested.

I called one of the testing centres and asked them to collect my swab sample at the earliest. Between this time, I took deep steam three times thinking that the virus? will collectively vanish. Yes, when it comes to any medical problems, we develop immature thoughts. Within few hours, a PPE-suited man entered my home, and collected my sample. The 24 hours wait for the result made me so nervous that I almost forgot to take care of myself and started over thinking. I asked myself whether or not my body was prepared to fight this virus? Whether I should start drinking more Kadha to aid my immunity.

I ate highly nutritious food that day - bowl of fruits, nice home-made subji, dal rice and salad, and lots of Kadha of course. Fortunately, I was tested negative.

The last few months have been terrible for everyone. Many of us have lost our loved ones. The fear of disease is killing more than the disease itself. The important question is if you are reading this, it means you have received a chance to improve yourself; improve your habits and inculcate them in the long run instead of only when your body is recovering.

Many top nutritionists in India recommend us to eat at least 10 home-cooked meals in a week. These meals may not be fancy but should contain a nice portion of dal, fresh vegetable subji, chapati, side salad and small portion of rice. Home-cooked food is best for overall well-being. Because for better life, eat your food like your medicine else you will have to eat medicine as your food.
