Amid a rise in theft and burglary incidents in the city, unidentified thieves broke into an electronic shop in the Kranti Chowk area and decamped with goods worth over Rs 6.80 lakhs. The incident occurred on the night of May 2.

Complainant Tanaji Shinde (resident of Gajanan Maharaj Chowk) owns ‘S.S. Technology,’ located at Ramanagar Corner in the Centre Point building. After he closed the shop on the night of May 2, the accused allegedly broke the shutter lock and gained entry. The stolen items include electronic goods worth Rs 3.15 lakh, five laptops, 59 cameras valued at Rs 1.26 lakh, 15 printers and monitors worth Rs 95,050, 10 motherboards and Wi-Fi boards worth Rs 89,961, and 10 NVR/DVR units worth Rs 54,000, taking the total loss to Rs 6.80 lakh. A case has been registered at the Usmanpura police station, and further investigation is underway.
