Aurangabad, Jan 3:

The energy of self-expression cannot be suppressed. So if this energy is used to help others, then many people will stand up on their feet. The same message is being conveyed through the work of both the dignitaries, said social activist Ravindra Kirkole, praising senior dancer Parvati Dutta and Mayuri Rajhans, director of Sevashram Sanstha at Shirur Kasar.

He was speaking at the Dr Rakhmabai Raut Seva Puraskar and Dr Bhimrao Gasti Prabodhan award distribution ceremony held on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule by the Savitribai Phule Mahila Ekatma Samaj Mandal here today. The event was held at Damuanna Date hall. Mayuri Rajhans received the Dr Rakhmabai Raut Seva Puraskar, while Parvati Dutta was awarded Dr Bhimrao Gasti Prabodhan award by Kirkole and entrepreneur Milind Kelkar. Dr Divakar Kulkarni was present on the stage.

Speaking on the occasion, Kirkole said that both pure and inclusive Indianness is reflected in the work of both awardees. It is important to keep in mind the value system and convey it to the new generation in a way that will appeal to them. He also clarified that today''s society is free, prosperous, free from stereotypes and far away from inhuman traditions. It is the government''s job to provide basic facilities and education in the society, but it is the job of the society to inculcate values in the new generation, said Kelkar. Siddharth Patekar, Sanket Kulkarni, Yogita Hoke were present.

Dedicating the award to artists

Parvati Dutta said that she was dedicating the award to the artists who have been preserving their art even in difficult circumstances, adding that she was aware of the fact that the award has increased her responsibility.
