Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The District Planning Committee (DPC) sanctioned a fund of Rs 10 crore to the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) for the development of four crematoriums in the city, during the last year. Utilising the funds, the CSMC has developed environment-friendly funeral facilities at the crematoriums located in Pratapnagar, Mukundwadi, Begumpura and N-6 in Cidco.

To avoid pollution threats to residents staying in the surroundings of the above four crematoriums due to smoke, pollution-free pallets were being used. Meanwhile, to provide environment-friendly facilities cremation furnaces or automatic machines have been installed at these four crematoriums. The smoke will be released out through a chimney and the pallets will also be used to consign the body to flames.

The body, placed on a stretcher, will be dashed into the automatic machine and after some time it will reduced to the the ashes. A locker facility has also been provided at each of these four crematoriums to preserve the ashes.
