A Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Heavy Electric Vehicles was inaugurated in the city, marking a major stride in advancing India's electric mobility ecosystem and skill development.

Established through a collaboration between ISIEINDIA, JSW Foundation, JSW Greentech Limited, and CSMSS, the facility is the second EV centre in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar after the Toyota CoE, and reflects the city's growing stature as an investment hub with over Rs 1.5 lakh crore in committed investments.

According to Lokmat Times, the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) is also on the verge of developing its own CoE in the city, further cementing city's emergence as a knowledge and technology corridor. Designed as an industry-academia platform, the CoE will offer practical, employment-oriented training in heavy EV powertrain systems, electric bus and truck technologies, EV assembly, battery systems, diagnostics, welding, fabrication, and industrial safety.

The inauguration was attended by chief guest CEO Sumit Mittal of JSW Greentech Limited, alongside dignitaries including board member, JSW Greentech Vijay Sinha, COO Amitav Sahay,VP & CHRO Gaurav Jhala, founder & CEO Vinod Gupta of ISIEINDIA, sector head Mahesh Shetty of JSW Foundation, Dr Shrikant Deshmukh, head HR Rupam Singh JSW Motors, plant HR head Bhupendra Singh Bais, and principal Dr. Ganesh B. Dongre. The initiative is expected to boost employability, promote sustainable transport, and produce industry-ready professionals in alignment with the 'Make in India' and 'Skill India' missions.
