A gangster who had been externment for two years attacked police when a team went to apprehend him. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar's Chhawani police paraded the gangster in handcuffs through the area on Friday evening.

Ishwar Chavan, a gangster from Bhavsingpura area, had been externed for two years. When a police team went to arrest him, Ishwar and his relatives attacked them. On Wednesday, he had bitten a policeman's hand and torn his uniform. Chhawani police took Ishwar into custody and paraded him through the Amen Chowk area on Friday night. The gangster who had been causing trouble just days ago was seen walking with his head down in silence. Assistant police inspector Dr Vivek Jadhav and police personnel were present during the action.
