An externed youth was brutally attacked with knives in Wadgaon Kolhati, Waluj on thursday over an old rivalry.
The victim, karan maroti gaikwad, sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at government medical college and hospital (GMCH). MIDC waluj police have registered a case against four accused. According to a complaint filed by his sister, Roshni Jadhav (22, ajabnagar, kranti chowk), karan had gone around 12.30 pm to an open ground near Laxmimata temple to feed pigs when the accused Ajay Dahatonde, Omkar alias Sonya Tribhuvan, Abhijit Phate, and Kiran Ghumre confronted him.
Over past enmity, Ajay and Abhijit allegedly stabbed karan repeatedly in the back with sharp knives, causing deep wounds, and also injured his hand. Omkar and kiran allegedly assaulted him with kicks and punches. The attackers reportedly threatened to kill him during the assault. Severely injured, karan ran home shouting for help and collapsed at the entrance. Family members rushed him to GMCH on a motorcycle. Doctors have termed his condition critical. Police said that a day earlier, on april 29 around 6.45 pm, Ajay had allegedly threatened Karan and his brother-in-law Amol jadhav with a knife. The family did not approach police out of fear and because karan had been externed from chhatrapati sambhajinagar district for two years and was residing in jalna. He had come to Wadgaon Kolhati for personal reasons when the attack took place. Police conducted a spot panchnama and found blood stains at the scene. Teams have been deployed to trace the accused. Further investigation is underway.
