The families of six victims who died in a tragic truck accident on the Kannad-Pishor road will receive financial assistance, assured Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Santosh Gorad.

On Sunday, a truck carrying sugarcane overturned in Kolsawadi Khande Shivara, killing six people from Satkund and injuring ten others. The accident left the community in shock, prompting immediate intervention from authorities. Gorad convened a meeting at the Kannad Tehsil Office with officials from various departments, ensuring that the victims' families receive aid through government schemes. Present at the meeting were Tehsildar Vidyacharan Kadavkar and officials from social welfare, agriculture, women and child welfare, panchayat samiti, revenue, and the CM’s Relief Fund. The administration has assured swift action in disbursing the relief funds. Further assistance for the injured and affected families is under consideration.
