Usually, the court takes around six months to sanction the divorce application. However, the family court here in a matter accepted the divorce application submitted with the consent from both the parties in just 13 days.

Moreover, the husband and wife in the concerned case were living separately from the sixth day of the marriage. They submitted the divorce application on Decmeber 14, 2020, which Judge Ashish Aychit accepted it on December 14, 2020. The applicants married by the Christian tradition on January 4, 2016. However, both of them started living separately from January 10, 2016 as both of them could not coped mutually. On the request of both, the court relaxed the period of six month in this case. The marriage counselor gave the report that mediation is not possible in the matter. As observed that there cannot be any mediation in the matter, the court accepted the divorce application.
