Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Karmad police have registered a case against a man for allegedly abetting the suicide of his 18-year-old daughter in Gevrai Kuber village.

Ankita Kuber allegedly jumped into a well in Gut No. 23 at Bangaon Shivar around 5.30 pm on April 10 following a dispute with her father, Navnath Kuber, over attending a friend’s wedding. The complaint alleges that he abused and assaulted her, prompting her to take the extreme step. Based on a complaint by her mother, Renuka Kuber (40), an offence has been registered. The accused is also alleged to have conducted the last rites without informing police and attempted to destroy evidence. Sub- divisional police officer Pooja Nangare and police inspector Samratsing Rajput visited the spot. Police sub inspector Bharat Nikalje is investigating the case.
