Field assistant booked for ₹1.97 lakh embezzlement

Pundliknagar police have registered a case against Pawan Nikale, a field assistant with Bharat Finance Company, for allegedly misappropriating over Rs 1.97 lakhs collected from six loan borrowers.

According to manager Mayur Khandagale’s complaint, Nikale collected the amount between March 4, 2025, and May 2, 2026, claiming he would close the borrowers’ loans but failed to deposit the money with the company. When questioned, he allegedly evaded repayment, prompting the complaint. Investigation is underway.
