Aurangabad, March 3:

A huge fire broke out in the forest area of Shirsala Tanda (Sillod) in Ajanta hills on Tuesday night. A large number of trees have been destroyed in the fire. The fire was brought under control by the team of Soygaon and Sillod forest department.

A team from Soygaon forest range rushed to the spot after receiving information. Due to the intensity of the fire, the team of the forest department had a hard time controlling the blaze. The team had to douse out the flame using tree branches. The fire was brought under control by 11 am on Wednesday. The forest department officials said that nearly three hectares of forest have been destroyed in the fire.
