Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The flag hoisting ceremony for the historic ‘Atirudra Mahotsav’, being organised at the Grishneshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas was held on Monday to mark the commencement of the upcoming Adhik Maas celebrations. The grand religious event will be conducted from June 5 to June 9.

The sacred ritual will begin on Friday, June 5, corresponding to Adhik Jyeshtha Krishna Panchami, and will conclude on Tuesday, June 9, on Adhik Jyeshtha Krishna Navami.

A major highlight of the festival will be the participation of hundreds of learned priests, Vedic scholars and Brahmins from across India, who will gather in Ellora for the grand spiritual event. The premises of the Grishneshwar Temple are expected to resonate with Vedic chants and traditional rituals performed as per scriptures. The ceremonies will be conducted under the guidance and presence of these distinguished scholars.

The Atirudra committee is making extensive arrangements to ensure that the hundreds of visiting priests and thousands of Shiva devotees arriving for darshan do not face any inconvenience regarding accommodation, meals and temple visits.

Following Monday’s flag hoisting ceremony, devotees are now eagerly awaiting the commencement of the auspicious festival on June 5.
