Former MLA Harshvardhan Jadhav from Kannad was arrested on Monday at 5.45 pm in Nagpur, after failing to appear in court for an ongoing case.

Jadhav, who had been accused of obstructing official duties, was admitted to Mayo Government Hospital due to chest pain shortly after his arrest. The case dates back to 2024 when Jadhav attempted to meet Uddhav Thackeray in Nagpur, but police intervened. Despite multiple court warrants, Jadhav had missed several hearings. Authorities took action after his continued absence, arresting him for hindering government work. Addressing his arrest, Jadhav expressed frustration, saying, "Those who fight for their self-respect must face the consequences. My lawyers were absent, and even though I had a medical issue, they should have been there. Jadhav also mentioned his plans to file for bail on Tuesday, but he remains uncertain whether he will be granted bail. "If anything happens due to my health, I will face the consequences," he said.
