A 40-year-old man died after drowning in a well at Alapurwadi in the tehsil. The incident came to light on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Annasaheb Pagare, a resident of Alapurwadi. According to information received, the incident occurred around 8 pm on Sunday. Upon learning that Annasaheb Pagare had fallen into the well, his brother, Kakasaheb Pagare, rushed him in an unconscious state to the sub-district hospital in Vaijapur. However, after examination, doctors declared him dead. Based on information provided by the medical officer of the hospital, an accidental death has been registered at the Shiur police station. Further investigation is being carried out by police head constable Aghade. The incident has sparked grief in the locality.
