Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A woman has been booked for allegedly cheating a construction businessman of Rs 25 lakh in the name of a joint development project.

The accused has been identified as Jumana Ziletwala, a resident of Royal Court Apartment, Anandnagar, Town Hall. According to the complaint by Abdul Haq, a resident of Aref Colony, Ziletwala proposed a 50-50 partnership to develop Plot No. 9 originally owned by Dr. Arvind Deshpande in Anandnagar in 2018, citing her inability to buy it due to financial issues. Trusting her, Abdul Haq paid her Rs 25.01 lakh in multiple installments. The two even signed a formal agreement. However, Ziletwala allegedly ignored the agreement and sold the plot to Syed Suja Mujahid Syed Ahmad Iqbaloddin. Abdul Haq had already filed a legal dispute in court and at the sub-registrar’s office when the sale occurred. Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, the accused allegedly sold the plot to Syed Suja Mujahid Syed. Based on this, a case has now been registered at the Begumpura Police Station. Following this, a case has been registered under relevant sections for cheating and breach of trust at Begumpura Police Station.
