A fire gutted a sandal shop near Khandoba Temple in Gangapur around 9 pm on Friday, destroying goods worth Rs 3–3.5 lakh. Shop owner Ravindra Udumalle had closed the shop just half an hour earlier. Firefighters and locals doused the blaze within 30 minutes, but a nearby salon and adjoining shops suffered damage. The fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit.
