Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Kathak dancer Parvati Dutta said that qualities such as affection, compassion, forgiveness and generosity are found in men as well, and therefore the inequality faced by women should come to an end.

The Make Them Smile Foundation organised a felicitation programme on Monday to honour women who have made notable contributions in various fields on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Foundation president Dr Shrirang Deshpande presided over the event, while vice-president Ashok Jadhav was present.

Animal rescuer Karuna Bramhe, researcher Dr Sangeeta Dongre, newspaper vendor Sukeshini Jadhav, patent researcher Dr Ranjana Shastri and gym trainer Shalini Kadam were felicitated with a shawl, a sapling, a book and a citation. Dr Nagesh Ankush introduced the awardees. The programme was compered by Neena Nikalje, while general secretary Ujjwala Nikalje proposed the vote of thanks.
