Aurangabad, Jan 17:

The sudden closure and technical glitches in the CoWIN app of the central government have added to the problems of the municipal corporation. The administration is preparing to send offline messages to the beneficiaries on Monday if the app doesn't function. Corona vaccination drive will be resumed at 5 health centres from Tuesday, said health officer Dr Nita Padalkar.

Corona vaccination drive began from Saturday. However, after the closure of the CoWIN app, the health workers of the municipal corporation had to make last-minute arrangements to give an offline message to the beneficiaries receiving the vaccination.

In all, 500 beneficiaries were sent offline messages. Although vaccination drive was successful on the first day, it was not possible to continue vaccination on Sunday due to glitches in CoWIN app.

If the CoWIN app starts on Monday, the health workers in the first phase will be sent online messages. However, if the CoWIN app remains closed, messages will be sent offline. The arrangement has been made to deliver a message on the mobile and telephone from the control room.

Corona vaccination is expected to start from Tuesday at 5 municipal health centres. For that, 500 beneficiaries will be notified. Over 100 vaccines will be given at each health centre. From Tuesday, for the next four days, 500 health workers will be vaccinated every day said Dr Padalkar.
