Aurangabad, May 25:

The city police have registered a non-cognizable offence against the GMCH nurse and her daughter for arguing with the police personnel on duty in Aurangpura today at 11.30 am.

It so happened that the police team under the supervision of the officials Amol Devkar and G P Sontakke resorted to 'nakabandi' in Aurangpura locality, since 9 am today. A team of doctors was also present to conduct an on-the-spot test of persons roaming in the city without any reason during the daytime. At around 11.30 am, when the nurse and her daughter were passing by on a moped, the police signalled to stop the vehicle. However, the girl instead of stopping turned the vehicle and rode in the wrong direction. Hence the police stopped them and told them to pay the challan (fine) for riding the vehicle in the wrong direction. This enraged the mother, who was riding pillion, she started to argue by questioning why the cops stopped their vehicle. She questioned why the police are not stopping other vehicles. Hearing her loud voice, the police officials Devkar and PSI Sontakke tried to convince her. The woman introduced herself as the GMCH nurse. She also got angry when the police told her to produce the identity card. After some time, the police officials told the lady constable Kharat to let them go. The duo went and returned towards the spot and started taking photographs of the lady constable with mobile. When Kharat objected to the action, the mother and daughter strongly argued with her. Hence the police detained and brought them to the police station.

The nurse and her daughter argued again with the cops at the police station. The head constable Kharat lodged a complaint of non-cognizable offence against the nurse. The duo got silent when they saw the complaint is being registered. PI Darade allowed them to go after a warning.
