The spree of targeting women for gold chain snatching continues across Satara, Usmanpura, and Jawaharnagar police jurisdictions. On the night of January 17 at 10.40 pm, a married woman’s 3-tola gold chain was snatched near Beed Bypass.

Jayashree Nair (55, Raigad nagar) had gone with her family to a hotel on Beed Bypass for dinner. While returning home, a two-wheeler rider who came from behind grabbed the 3-tola gold chain from her neck and fled. Earlier, Satara police had repeatedly reported similar gold chain thefts in their jurisdiction, but none of the snatching cases have been solved so far.
