Rising street crimes have left pedestrians feeling unsafe. On May 4 around 10 pm, Anita Teli (Thane), walking with a relative near Mitranagar Garden, was targeted by two bike-borne men who snatched her 3.5-tola gold necklace near Shanta Apartments and fled. Jawaharnagar police registered a case on Tuesday.

In another incident on April 30, retired Ranganath Mali (N-1, Cidco) was walking with his wife near Moscow Corner when three persons on a scooty forcibly snatched her earrings, jhumkas and chain. MIDC Cidco police have filed a case.

Liquor looted at sword point

At Glorious Wine Shop on Beed Bypass, Santosh Khare (Osmanpura) allegedly abused and assaulted staff around midnight on May 5 and looted two liquor bottles at sword point. Satara police registered a case on Akash Phule’s complaint.
