Aurangabad, July 6:

Shree Gurudev Industries, a manufacturer of hand-gloves and other safety equipment in the Waluj industrial area, caught fire on Tuesday afternoon. The fire engulfed machinery along with raw and finished goods. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained.

Bhanudas Vasudev Palaskar (Walujmahanagar) owns a company that manufactures hand-gloves and other safety equipment in the leased space in gut no 34 in Waluj MIDC. At around 2.30 pm on Tuesday, smoke suddenly started coming out of the tin shed of the company. Operator Kaluram immediately informed Palaskar. Meanwhile, the fire engulfed all goods in the shed and machinery including air compressors, sewing machines and six hand glove making machines and two other machines at the site. Getting information, officials from the Waluj fire department including S F Wasankar, S R Gaikwad, S S Ambhore, M D Pachangane, R A Chaudhary and others rushed to the shop and with the help of workers from the nearby company managed to control the fire in an hour and half. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident. Palaskar has estimated that at least Rs 10 lakh was lost due to the fire.
