Four local goons brutally assaulted a businessman inside his shop in Dashmeshnagar on Sunday evening, triggering fresh concerns over rising violence in the area.

Ankit Vaishnav, who owns a cake shop, was inside when the assailants entered. Two of them arrived on a moped (MH-20-DA-2243). One picked a fight, demanding, "Why are you looking at me?" before the group launched a violent attack. They abused and beat Ankit, with one even attempting to strangle him. Hearing the commotion, Ankit’s friend rushed to help but was pushed onto the road and assaulted. Both victims sustained injuries. Police have registered a case at the Osmanpura police station and launched an investigation. Dashmeshnagar, known for its cafes and hotels, has witnessed frequent altercations. Just two weeks ago, a youth was beaten in broad daylight. The recurring violence has left residents frustrated, urging authorities to take stricter action.
