Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Govind Kendre, who was elected as the leader of the house in the municipal corporation last week, formally assumed charge on Friday afternoon.

The ceremony was attended by Minister for Other Backward Bahujan Welfare Atul Save, former union Minister Dr Bhagwat Karad, Mayor Sameer Rajurkar, Standing Committee Chairman Anil Makariye, City President Kishor Shitole, BJP state vice-president Sanjay Kadge, state secretary Pravin Ghuge, Madhuri Adwant, Kirti Shinde, Savita Kulkarni, and former chairman Raju Shinde, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Kendre said that a meeting of all party group leaders would be organised soon to ensure the smooth functioning of the municipal corporation over the next five years. He said that development would remain the central focus moving forward and appealed for cooperation from all parties in this regard.
