Despite frequent glitches in the Hajeri attendance app used by Municipal Corporation staff, the administration continues salary deductions for late or missed entries. This has caused concern among permanent and contractual employees, especially Class IV workers.

Over the past decade, several systems were introduced to enforce discipline, including biometric and face-recognition machines. All failed due to technical issues. The latest Hajeri app faces similar problems, with frequent failures in marking morning and evening attendance. Ironically, dedicated workers often find their evening entries missing. Complaints have been submitted to the workers' union. Many Class IV employees lack smartphones and depend on others to mark attendance. In February, over half were marked absent and faced salary cuts. union president Sanjay Suradkar has taken up the issue.

Visually impaired employees are unable to use the app. There is rising demand to exempt them from the system and offer an alternative method.
