BEED: In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves across the district, a young man Rameshwar Gavhane (25) committed suicide by consuming poison in his farmland at Nagapur in Parli Vaijnath tehsil on Friday morning after constant harassment by his wife.

Before taking the extreme step, Rameshwar posted a detailed emotional account of his ordeal on Facebook, narrating the mental and physical agony he had been enduring.

The Facebook 'suicide note'

In the viral social media post, Rameshwar levelled serious allegations against his wife, Namrata Jadhav. He claimed that for the past two years, he had been subjected to relentless mental torture and frequent physical assaults. He further alleged that he had been deceived regarding her health conditions at the time of the marriage.

According to the post, the situation escalated as his wife allegedly pressured him over property matters and repeatedly threatened to implicate him in false criminal cases. "I am ending my life because I am exhausted by this constant harassment and the fear of being framed," the post read.

Friends and relatives who saw the Facebook post rushed to contact him, but by the time they reached him, Rameshwar had already passed away.

The Parli Vaijnath rural police registered a case and initiated a high-level probe into the matter. "We are investigating the claims made in the social media post. The mobile phone of the deceased has been seized, and statements from family members are being recorded," a police official stated.
