Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court comprising Justice R V Ghuge and Justice B U Debadwar on Thursday directed the principal secretary of Home Department to maintain Close Circuit TV cameras footage of chartered and cargo planes arrival and departure from Shirdi between April 10 and 25.
The court that it would not want reasons like footage is not available or lost. The court gave the directives in an online hearing today after a petition was filed about bringing 10,000 ‘Remdesivir’ injects by MP Dr Sujay Vikhe.
Chief Government pleader D R Kale sought three days to present the side of the district collector. The next hearing has been placed at 2.30 pm on May 3.
The petitioner filed an affidavit along with newspapers clipping related to antiviral drug.
The petition, through news clippings, brought to the notice of the court that the district collected had informed in a press conference that Dr Vikhe gave 1700 ‘Remdesivir’ injections to the district civil hospital.
The district collector informed the court that the district civil surgeon took permission from the district administration, purchased injections from Pune-based Pharma D Company through money received from Vikhe Medical Store.
He also that the district civil surgeon gave some part of the injections stock to Vikhe Medical Store.
The HC observed that injections were not brought from Delhi. It said that the newspaper clippings indicate that the district collector is shielding MP Vikhe.
“Whether the stock brought from Delhi to Shirdi is different from the stock purchased in Pune?
The photographs of Dr Vikhe while bringing injections by plane and distributing it is real or not.
All these things need to be verified," the HC observed.
The court opined that joint-probe cannot be done until it gets proper evidence from district collector Dr Rajendra Bhosale. The court also rejected the petitions of some patients relatives.
